2.5/2.7 mm Water-Repellent Nubuck
Nubuck comes from full-grain leather, the most natural and original type of leather, which is the outer layer of the cowhide. In this layer (the epidermis, or grain), the fibers are tightly bound, making it more durable, insulating, and resistant to water, cold, and wear. To achieve the velvety look of nubuck leather, this top layer has been lightly sanded in its natural grain to open the hair cells. The result is a leather with similar characteristics to full-grain leather, but softer, more breathable, and with better absorption of water-repellent agents.

Bestard was the first Spanish brand, and one of the first in the world, to incorporate Gore-Tex linings in mountain boots. Thanks to close collaboration between W.L. Gore and Bestard over the past 20 years, we have been able to manufacture boots that offer a unique combination of durable waterproofing and effective moisture wicking.
The secret to achieving optimal results lies in a difficult-to-achieve combination: on the one hand, the use of the Gore-Tex lining itself, and on the other, the selection of high-performance materials (leathers, fabrics, supports, foams, etc.), as well as a careful and meticulous manufacturing process.
The Gore-Tex® lining is a system in itself, the main component of which is a stretched PTFE membrane. Its surface consists of millions of microscopic pores that provide excellent breathability. The pores are large enough to allow vapor molecules (sweat) to pass through, but at the same time small enough to prevent water molecules (rain, snow, etc.) from passing through, making it waterproof.
The complete lining is composed of different functional layers, which protect the membrane, contribute to the lining's longevity, and provide good sweat absorption and wicking, etc. Thanks to these different functional layers, there are various Gore-Tex lining options, all waterproof and breathable.

Special anatomical last with a wide fit
The human foot is a complex feat of engineering, resulting in an infinite number of different sizes and shapes, which makes it difficult to design and manufacture a single boot that fits everyone well. Therefore, at Bestard, we strive to respect the differences in feet as much as possible by using a series of different lasts, each carefully designed to accommodate a wide variety of foot shapes.
OFS Anti-Torsion Insole
The rigidity level of a boot depends largely on the insole used in its construction.
We use six Bestflex insoles, made from different materials, which give the boots five distinct levels of flexibility and rigidity, each ideal for its specific activity.
The insoles marked with a ‘+ P®’ in the catalog's technical specifications are also covered with PORON® Performance across the entire insole, guaranteeing high energy return and excellent shock absorption throughout the boot's lifespan (see more information: PORON® Performance).
